3 takeaways after OKC Thunder lose on the road to the New Orleans Pelicans 114-118

Parting thoughts
I’m genuinely surprised that OKC kept it this close. Usually when Russ isn’t feeling it and turns the ball over as much as he did tonight, the Thunder have an extraordinarily difficult time staying in the game.
As with Oklahoma City this season, they have shown a fortitude to hang tough and make plays

when it really counts. Just when it looked like the game was getting out of hand, the stars rose to the occasion. With less than 15 seconds remaining, OKC had a chance to walk out with the W. Unfortunately, Alex Abrines just couldn’t get it to drop.
It is worth noting just how shaky everyone looked tonight. Aside from George, Adams and
Schroder, almost everyone on the roster seemed to be having an off-night. There were more important things to talk about but Patrick Patterson continued his rough patch of form. He and Abrines have been tough for Thunder fans as both have struggled mightily shooting the ball. Entering the season, both were OKC’s best 3-point shooters but have failed to find the range thus far. I suspect both will bounce back and find their shooters touch but the only way to do that is to keep letting them fly.
Next up, Oklahoma City travel to play divisional rivals the Denver Nuggets.
