OKC Thunder hold off the Clippers – Topic: Thunder Podcast
The OKC Thunder held on to get a much needed win against a good team. The Topic: Thunder Podcast hits you with the recap.
OKC Thunder win. Thunder win.
It’s been a fairly rough stretch for the the Thunder, having lost to two potential playoff opponents in as many games. OKC had dropped back-to-back games to the Pelicans (barely, ouch) and then to the Nuggets (barely, but not really), and they were coming into this one on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Clippers had a night off. This could easily have been a loss.
What’s great is that OKC can’t even say that they were rescued by Russell Westbrook tonight. Russ shot 4-17 from the field. Russ was able to add 12 assists, nine rebounds (wow, he really should have stat-padded for his triple-double.), and six steals. But he missed a ton of layups. He was impressive, but he did not win this game for OKC.

Paul George was incredible. He went for 33 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. He was, again, incredible. It is absolutely no hyperbole at this point to say that Paul George is a legitimate MVP candidate.
It’s also not hyperbole to say that Steven Adams is in contention for an All Star spot. Steven Adams is up to 16 and 10 this year. There are only maybe four centers in the West who are in competition with him.
And we’ve gone this far without even mentioning the 18 points on 11 shots, three blocks, and two steals Jerami Grant. He’s become so reliable, so guaranteed. Jerami Grant shooting a three makes me feel nice. I believe they are going in. What a bargain.
