OKC Thunder naughty list: Top 5 enemies of Russell Westbrook
5. Joel Embiid
This clash of personalities sparked about this time last year when Joel Embiid waved goodbye to Steven Adams as he walked off the court after fouling out in a triple-overtime game against Philadelphia. What became of that was an ongoing petty war.
Westbrook had the last laugh, however, as he waved goodbye to Embiid following the win. Embiid then addressed the situation after the game and even took a shot at Westbrook.
Embiid does a good job of creating enemies for himself, but in a different style than Westbrook. While both of them are ready to fight at the drop of a hat, Embiid usually starts his fight on Twitter or during interviews. Westbrook, on the other hand, typically handles most of his business on the court.
Given their similar personalities, it was only a matter of time before these two sparked a beef. And since the incident, neither one of them are willing to let it go. Which means every time the Thunder and 76ers square off, it’s personal. Embiid is a big man, but Westbrook might be the last guy you want to challenge.
