In the News: Happy holidays from the OKC Thunder
By Brayden Koch
The OKC Thunder have been nothing less than charitable this season. We take a look to see which of your favorite Thunder players are making a difference in the community.
As we progress through the holiday season, the OKC Thunder have proven their ability to make a difference on and off the court. Specifically, we look at how Russell Westbrook, Raymond Felton, and Patrick Patterson contributed to the season of giving.
Why Not? Foundation
The Why Not? Foundation was created by Russell Westbrook in order to ensure a sense of self-confidence and inspiration in all children. The foundation focuses on the children who are faced with adversity and hardships in their lives.
This year, Westbrook hosted his annual Christmas party at the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City. The Brodie used the party as an opportunity to give away shoes and backpacks to hundreds of less fortunate children.
Raymond’s Big Brother Big Sister Event
Westbrook isn’t the only OKC point guard getting in on the holiday love. This year, Raymond Felton hosted his second annual holiday festival for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Oklahoma. The organization strives to provide children the opportunity to achieve their goals regardless of the limitations they may be faced with.
At this year’s holiday festival, Felton offered some fun activities for the children, including bowling and pictures with Santa.

Pat Presents: Pajama Party
Everyone loves a good movie night! Patrick Patterson hosted his very own private pajama party, featuring a select few kids from Oklahoma City. Not only did they get to watch Home Alone with the big man, they engaged in a light-hearted trivia game.
Many times we focus on what a player is able to do on the court, while we should be focusing more on the difference they make in the community around them.
Thank you Russ, Ray, and Pat for making such a positive impact in our world!
