Even short-handed, the OKC Thunder refused to let the Sacramento Kings beat them again. The starters had to step up, and boy, did they ever.

The OKC Thunder do have an arch-nemesis, and thy did not play them tonight. That’s the Warriors, but the Sacramento Kings have been a burr in the Thunder’s sides for about as long as I can remember.

The Kings have risen up agains the more powerful team, the scrappy underdog forcing wins agains their under-matched, constantly superstar-laden opponent. And they’ve won more than they should. And the Thunder have gotten angrier and angrier, vowing revenge all the while.

Wait, are the OKC Thunder the Sacramento Kings’ villains?

Well, that makes sense, actually. Just check out the Thunder’s stats in this game, when the Kings put up a valiant effort. They were down three of their best players (The Thunder were down one), they played their hearts out, they weren’t even supposed to be good, and still this happens.

More from Thunder News

Russell Westbrook had 19 points, 17 assists, 11 rebounds, and six steals, the bully. Paul George scored 43 depressing points all by himself and added 12 rebounds and seven assists just for good measure. Steven Adams had 20 points and 23 rebounds – his career high in rebounds, and his first-ever 20-20 game. Jerami Grant threw in 22 points just to be mean.

The Thunder were mean to the Kings tonight. Sorry, Sacramento. But OKC Thunder fans have to be feeling pretty good right now. We at Topic: Thunder sure are!
