The Minnesota Timberwolves had some help, but the OKC Thunder still had their chances. Thunder lose to Minnesota 112-114.

So let’s get it out of the way up top – the Minnesota Timberwolves got some help from the refs in winning this game against the OKC Thunder.

Now that that’s out of the way, the Thunder had their chances to win this game. They took control of the game in the second, let it slip away in the third, and then fought back hard in the fourth. Russ was great, Paul George was MVP-level, and Steven Adams was a force.

Even despite the refs’ interference, OKC had a wide open look to send it to overtime (or to win, if Alex Abrines had a one-size smaller shoe. But Abrines left it short, and the Thunder lost.

This is not an embarrassing loss. OKC was on the second night of a back to back, Minnesota had a rest advantage, and, again, there were some… questionable calls late in the game. OKC could have won. They maybe should have lost, though, and they did.

I think we can all still feel pretty good about this team. Games like this happen in the NBA, and despite what their current Playoff spot is, the Wolves aren’t a bad team. Wiggins got hot, and the Thunder lost. We’ll be alright.

The Thunder play next on Christmas, but have fun with this recap until then!
