3 Takeaways after OKC Thunder ride Russell Westbrook’s big night to break two-game skid

A ‘W’ for the Jerami Grant Fanclub
It’s nights like tonight that really make being on the Jerami Grant bandwagon so worth it. I’ll fully admit that this is a pretty biased takeaway but it’s still worth noting just how solid Grant has looked recently.
The 25-year-old filled the stat sheet posting 12 points (6-12 from the field), eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist in 38 minutes. In typical fashion, Grant gave Thunder fans highlight dunks and unconventional lay-ups.
Dennis Schroder runs a high pick and roll with Grant who skies high for the beautiful two-handed slam.
With 4:13 left in the fourth quarter, Grant goes one on one with Josh Jackson. Grant muscles his way through contact, hangs in the air and finishes a difficult flip shot over Jackson and center DeAndre Ayton.
More than that, Grant was also spectacular defensively stepping out on the perimeter and protecting the paint.
It’s remarkable how much his game has evolved since his arrival from Philadelphia to the MidWest. From an athletic dunker without much of a shot to an impactful two-way starter, Grant has solidified himself as an important piece to OKC’s core.
This is a testament to both Oklahoma City’s development program and Grant’s incredible work ethic. His three-year, $27.3 million dollar deal is looking like an absolute steal.
