Sure, the Lakers were missing LeBron James, but the OKC Thunder just took care of what they could control – they took care of business.
It’s not every day that a team can withstand an abysmal night by a former MVP and still come out ahead. It’s not every day a team can shoot terribly, as a whole – from the field and from the line – and still win. Except for the OKC Thunder, it seems like almost every day.
The resiliency of this team is really remarkable. Bad shooting, bad Russ, bad refs, bad whatever, they find a way to stay in games.
That’s how you get a superior Net Rating, and that’s how you succeed in the Playoffs.

You know how else you succeed in the Playoffs? Have this version of Paul George on your team. MVPG has been carrying the Thunder. Well, him and their number one defense. The combination is deadly. And if Russell Westbrook can ever find himself (he will, bet), the Thunder are going to be a force to be reckoned with come April, May, and June.
The Lakers were injured, and they were young, but you can only play the opponent in front of you, and the Thunder handled their business.
