AD goes to LA
The Thunder doesn’t have the pieces to make a serious go at Antony Davis so let’s not pretend that we can.
Total reset in New Orleans
In order for Los Angeles to acquire Anthony Davis, they’re going to pay through the nose to get him. The Pels begin an immediate rebuild by receiving Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram as the centerpieces of the deal. Kuzma has shown himself to be an excellent scorer from the four-spot while Ingram has solidified himself more like a swiss army knife than a number one option.
Ivica Zubac and Svi Mykhailiuk come over as rebuilding pieces likely to receive playing time while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is nothing more than a salary filler who will be moved for additional assets.
An AD-LeBron partnership is born
Anthony Davis is a top five player in this league and finally makes his way to Los Angeles to join LeBron James. The superstar big man is a game changer for this franchise and provides them with the hope the need for another championship run.
While the Lakers gave up most of its depth in the transaction, there is no replacement out there for a top five player.
Thunder receive Miller and Cheick Diallo
OKC receives a shooter in Darius Miller but also pick up intriguing power forward Cheick Diallo. With Nerlens Noel almost guaranteed to depart this Summer, Diallo offers OKC another high energy guy who plays hard on both ends of the floor.
The 21-year-old is capable of playing both four and five spots whose offensive game is slowly developing.
