The OKC Thunder lost their worst game of the year in Atlanta. Even now, we’re bringing you a Topic: Thunder recap. Try to enjoy.

Well, that was a bummer. The OKC Thunder really laid an egg in Atlanta tonight, losing to the Hawks 142-126.

This loss hurts all the worse because the Western Conference standings are so congested, with any loss causing immediate repercussions. There are very few wins in the West, so these should-be-freebies are more important than ever.

Aside from that, the Thunder had a legitimate reason to get up for this game – this was Dennis Schröder’s return to his former home arena, and it can be reasonable assumed that he wanted this one badly. Yet, still, the Thunder brought no effort.

The offense was fine, but the defense was bad. Russell Westbrook, in particular, gave very little effort on that end. Yet, the blame can’t lie fully with him. When the 28th ranked offense in the league scores 142 points, that’s on everyone involved. Yes, even you, Steven Adams with the bum ankle.

It was just a terrible game for the Thunder. Yet still, we’re bringing you a recap. It was hard, but hey, effort is important. Maybe the Thunder should take a few notes from Topic: Thunder at this point, because the effort was just not there tonight, outside of the third quarter.

You can’t sleep on any team in this league, and you can’t sleep on Topic: Thunder. So, try to enjoy this recap, Thunder fans. We’re in this together.
