The resurgent OKC Thunder got their second win this season against Portland in as many tries, and this one sure felt good.

Podcasting after a big OKC Thunder win is so much more fun than after a loss. You’ll have to take my word for it, or just give this pod a listen, and I’m sure you’ll hear it in my voice.

And make no mistake, this was a BIG win for the Thunder. The Blazers wanted this one in the worst way, after OKC went and got one in Portland a couple weeks ago. It got chippy, too. Both teams were up for it. So for those reasons alone, it was a big game.

But even more than that, the two teams were virtually tied in the standings coming in, so they game had actual implications.

The Thunder’s stars stepped up accordingly.

More from Thunder News

Russell Westbrook had his best game in a good while. Paul George had a good game – even by his recently ridiculous standards – on both ends of the court. Steven Adams was solid, as always, and Terrance Ferguson and Jerami Grant have been revelations.

Even Patrick Patterson has gotten off the slide recently.

It feels like this team is back, if it ever left. The effort is clear to see, and the chemistry is as good as ever. They really like each other, and it gives me all the feels.
