OKC Thunder trade deadline: Milwaukee Bucks have few holes to fill
How the Bucks assets would fit OKC Thunder:
The biggest issue for the Bucks isn’t this season but what they’ll do this summer. With so many core contributors on expiring contracts, GM Jon Horst has decisions to make.
Can the Bucks, for example, afford to keep both Bledsoe and Brogdon while also bringing back Lopez who’ll have plenty of teams clamoring for his 7′ perimeter prowess. And, if not which of the two point guards will Horst be willing to barter with right now. Either way, both guards will be looking to get paid this summer although there is more control over Brogdon’s contract given he is just completing his rookie deal.
Maker is a much easier situation given he made the request to be moved.
As far as the Thunder are concerned Brogdon would be an ideal fit within the Thunder system. He’s a team first guy who’ll do whatever ever is necessary for the team to win. Brogdon could easily run the bench, work in conjunction with Russell Westbrook and Paul George. He fits the defensive mindset of the Thunder and at 6’5″ offers a lengthy player at his position. Clearly, his perimeter efficiency of 41.5 percent would be a welcome addition.
But, with everything outlined the true issue is the Thunder don’t need a third point guard of Brogdon’s abilities if they retain Dennis Schroder. Nor is it likely the Bucks would be willing to part with him unless they got fair value and picks back in return.
Maker for all his potential also isn’t an ideal addition given his request to play meaningful minutes.

Likewise, it would remove Abrines who the Thunder have barely utilized this year. This is the final year of Abrines contract and though nothing has been stated it’s hard to imagine at least at this stage OKC re-signing the Spaniard. Plus they get an upgrade defensively with Prince.
That makes the deal seem a bit more logical since Prince would be an economical addition who wouldn’t hurt the bottom line next season. Prince will be in the final year of his rookie contract earning $3.48 million.
Likelihood of Trade:
The trade could work if the Bucks had some sore of unimaginable desire to add the Spaniard. OKC could also use the trade exemption the team acquired in the Carmelo Anthony trade.
Therefore, as much as I’d love to add Brogdon to the Thunder the likelihood of this occurring is slim to none – even with Presti’s rabbits sitting in wait.
