Josh Hart

2018-19 – $1,655,160
2019-20 – $1,934,160
2020-21 – $3,491,159 (club)
2021-22 – RFA

Taken with the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, Josh Hart has been a pleasant surprise in his two-year career. Averaging 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds on 40.9 percent shooting and 34 percent from three, Hart has slightly regressed from his rookie year thanks in large to a role change playing beside LeBron James.

While Hart isn’t known as a premier three and D player, the 23-year old is a solid defender who accepts the toughest offensive assignment night in and night out. At 6’5 with a 6’9 wingspan, Hart takes advantage of his quick feet to stay in front opponents.

In his best game of the season, Hart posted 22 points on 8-14 from the field, 3-8 from three and 3-5 from the line in the 121-114 win over Sacramento.

Whether or not the Lakers are keen to move the young guard remains a big question mark. However with LeBron James in the fold, it wouldn’t be surprising if Los Angeles move him given LBJ’s preference for veterans.

Possible Trade

LeBron James loves veterans and has little time for young players. While Hart is 23-years-old, LBJ tends to trade all his young guns away for older, more experienced veterans.

If OKC can trade two seconds for Josh Hart that would be a major coup. With Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka keen to make a move, the two seconds would likely be moved into another transaction.

Should Sam Presti get a deal like this done, I would tip my hat to him.
