Pistons likely targeted assets:

More from Thunderous Intentions

Moving forward into trade deadline day one would assume General Manager Ed Stefanski should be looking to split up his trio of Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, and Reggie Jackson. They do not fit together in new Head Coach Dwane Casey’s system nor did they work in Stan VanGundy’s system.

The writing is on the wall but the issue is most teams aren’t hankering for a big like Drummond. Sure, he’s a solid teammate and above average defender but in today’s new era of bigs playing out to the perimeter, it limits Drummond. There may be a team he fits if it is all perimeter shooters and he is the guy defending the rim and grabbing rebounds but it won’t be easy for Stefanski to find it, especially under the tight deadline.

Worse is Reggie Jackson who has never found his footing, well, in essence anywhere he’s played. Until he accepts the fact he’s not a starting caliber point guard it’s unlikely a team will be excited to add him to their roster.

As for the OKC Thunder, as mentioned none of these players will move the needle and there aren’t key assets the Pistons have which should have Presti on the phone to Stefanski.
