Trevor Ariza

Salary:

2018-19 – $15,000,000
As per spotrac.

Long a favorite of yours truly Trevor Ariza possesses all the qualities you want in a role player. He’ll do whatever the team needs on either side of the floor. One need only look at the defensive regression in Houston to figure out how much Ariza did to help them last season.

With Grunfeld shipping out Porter and Morris the question is whether he’ll also move on from Ariza and others. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed the fire sale in Washington continues.

As for his numbers they don’t paint the full picture of what he offers your squad. On the season (looking only at his time in Washington) he boasts15.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals but shoots a meager 31.2 percent from deep.

That may be because he’s being tasked to do so much with Bradley Beal on the current Wizards squad because he shot 36 percent from deep in Phoenix and a slightly higher 36.8 percent in Houston last season.

Suffice to say Ariza checks all the boxes and would be a valuable asset on any competitive team.
