OKC Thunder superstar Paul George top-5 games bolster his MVP candidacy
Forget the deer – Fear PG13:
Speaking of statement wins, the Thunder defended their home court with a 118-112 victory over the Bucks on Jan. 27 to increase their winning streak to six. It was the type of win that changes the opinions of many analysts and fans. George dominated with 36 points, including a vicious dunk over Giannis Antetokounmpo. He also recorded 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the nationally televised game.
Other than the dunk, maybe the most impressive part of George’s game was going 8-for-12 from deep, with many of them being contested. When George is hot, he can score from anywhere. And when he’s on fire like he was against Milwaukee, the Thunder are tough to beat.
While it’s just another game in the grand scheme of the full season, wins like that mean a little more than a simple win. It sends a message to the league that the Thunder are no joke this year and George is more than just a dark horse to win MVP.
It’s the type of performance Thunder fans use in arguments for their team and won’t be forgotten anytime soon. We will continue to see the highlight of George’s dunk on social media for the foreseeable future.
