OKC Thunder superstar Paul George top-5 games bolster his MVP candidacy
Coming up clutch:
Honestly, the top two games in this list could be interchangeable, but since a decision has to be made, let’s begin with Paul George hitting a game in Philadephia on Jan. 19 to give OKC a 117-115 win.
With under 10 seconds left in regulation, down by two, George rose up for a 3-pointer and hit the shot through contact to give OKC the lead. He then went on to knock down the free throw and was apart of the double team which forced Jimmy Butler to miss sealing the win.
George finished the game with 31 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. It wasn’t the most efficient night for George, shooting 40 percent from the field, but he went 11-for-11 at the line and hit the biggest shot of the game.
Although it wasn’t his best outing from a true numbers standpoint, there’s something to be said about finding a way to win during off nights. Every player of any caliber is going to have bad nights, so overcoming the adversity and hitting the shot that mattered most only adds to his incredible MVP resume.
