With the NBA deadline in the rearview mirror, the OKC Thunder are turning to the buy-out market. Should Oklahoma City take a chance on Michael Beasley?
While many teams made moves at the trade deadline, the OKC Thunder elected to stay pat and rely on the buyout market. With some of the more attractive targets now off the market, Sam Presti must comb a thin buyout market to fill some of the roster’s holes.
Is Michael Beasley the answer?
The 30-year-old was recently traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Los Angeles Clippers and subsequently waived upon his arrival.
Now Beasley is a bonafide ball stopper whose game is similar to that of heavily scrutinized Carmelo Anthony. Do the Thunder’s second unit need scoring? Sure but it comes at a cost since Beasley isn’t the strongest defender.
OKC showed interest in Beasley this past off-season and with the Thunder needing depth at the wing spots, there are minutes to be had.
Let’s take a quick look at what the veteran could bring to Oklahoma City.
