The OKC Thunder made it four straight wins as they took care of the Portland Trail Blazers 120-111 at Chesapeake Arena. T.I present 3 takeaways from the game.

The OKC Thunder stretched its win streak to four as they took care of the Portland Trail Blazers 120-111 at Chesapeake Arena to move to 38-19 on the season. The win sees the Thunder move four wins clear of fourth-placed Portland and remain one game behind the Denver Nuggets.

However, two historical records were set today:

  • Russell Westbrook now holds the record for the most consecutive triple doubles posting 21 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for his 10th in a row
  • Paul George and Russ became the first Thunder teammates to post triple-doubles in the same game

The wild thing is both PG13 and Westbrook completed each others triple-doubles. With 3:48 remaining, the Brodie hit PG13 for a contested three in which he nailed. Three minutes later with less than a minute remaining, George found Russ for a deep trey to complete his first triple-double in OKC colors.

Oklahoma City was in control for much of the game and led by as many as 20 points before Portland made a spirited comeback in the third quarter to cut the deficit to five. PG13 and Westbrook combined to close the game out in the fourth to give them their ninth win in 10 games.

Let’s take a look at three takeaways from the game.
