On today’s compilation, we discuss the newest addition to the OKC Thunder, Russell Westbrook’s future records, and a special podcast guest.
IT IS OFFICIAL! Markieff Morris will flaunt the glorious blue and orange this season.
He’s been with Washington since February of 2016, averaging 12.4 points and .345 from the three over the last four seasons.
His season-high performance came just three games in. He put up 28 points on 60 percent shooting, 6-of-10 from the perimeter. His near 30-point game led Washington to a one-point win over Portland.
Since then, Morris has produced four games scoring 20 points or more. He has scored 10 or more points in 22 of his 34 games played this season, averaging 11.5 points per game.

Russell Westbrook: Mr. Triple-Double.
According to Erik Horne for NewsOK.com, Westbrook will have an opportunity to break another triple-double record this season. He is already the owner of the longest triple-double streak with eleven consecutive.
"Westbrook would need 18 triple-doubles in the final 25 games of the season to match his record from the 2016-17 season. He’s currently at a league-best 24 triple-doubles, 12 more than Denver’s Nikola Jokic.Even if he doesn’t get back to 42, Westbrook will end the season in rarefied air. With two more triple-doubles, he will have two of the top five seasons in NBA history in terms of total triple-doubles."
There are now only three players that make up the Top 5 of season triple-doubles: Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, and Russell Westbrook. In 2017 Westbrook beat the record for most triple-doubles in a season, topping Oscar Robertson by one stat-line with 42 trip dubs.
With just three more trip dub performances, Westbrook can occupy the No. 1 spot and the No. 3 spot on the leader’s board. Can we pause and reflect on the fact that THIS GUY is OUR point guard?
We are forever grateful.
