It’s been stated repeatedly Pat Riley has no intention of not competing for the playoffs. If you’re a Dwyane Wade fan (like yours truly) it’s also hard not to imagine his farewell tour including at least one round, and one throwback postseason performance.

Forget the fact it’s probably not logical to take that route, it just feels appropriate.

As far as the deadline adding Ryan Anderson and his $21 million plus salary wasn’t as much of an albatross as most think given it’s not fully guaranteed.

Factor in Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic have player options to the tune of over $46 million. Whiteside, in particular, hasn’t been happy with his role in Miami and should he decline that would free up another $27M from the Heat’s bottom line. Let’s just say this squad could quickly become players in the free agent market depending on what Whiteside and Dragic decide to do.
