OKC Thunder: Key Takeaways offer silver lining in loss to Nuggets

Even in defeat, Paul George finds a way to astonish his doubters, and validate his supporters. Throughout the entire season, PG13 has managed to do outstanding work on both sides of the court.
Tonight matched up with one of the most efficient all-around teams in the league he managed to chalk up 25 points, in what he saw as a bad night for himself. Neglecting that he posted 7 rebounds, 8 assists, oh and nabbed 6 steals!

The MVP mutterings are beginning to become louder are more conceivable. At the very least he has secured a spot as a defensive player of the year candidate. This is truly one of the few times we’ve ever seen such a prolific scorer be able to carry such a large load on defense.
George was beyond pestering against the nuggets giving their wings fits each time down the court. George takes it upon himself to lock down the most offensively gifted player on each team the OKC Thunder compete against. Leading the league in steals is no small feat, nor is being the second leading scorer in the NBA.
His efficiency is tremendous, and with the Thunder sitting in the 3rd seed in the west, there aren’t too many that can make the same claims for MVP that he has. Paul George has shown no signs of slowing down.
His numbers are indicative of his mindset this season. It is clear that George has a message he wants to send the rest of the league, and that message is categorically definitive. He is not just a role player for a good team, but he is a bonafide superstar. Nobody can deny this fact anymore.
Next up the OKC Thunder will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
