OKC Thunder forward Patrick Patterson hosted his fourth Pat Presents screening of the 2018-19 season. This time around the film was Ben Affleck’s, Triple Frontier.

OKC Thunder forward Patrick Patterson enjoys the cinema, he spreads his passion for the film industry in the local community by hosting private movie events, properly appointed Pat Presents.

On Tuesday evening, Paterson held his fourth and potentially final screening of the 2018-19 campaign. Patterson has hosted an additional two events similar to Pat Presents, one was a special screening of films from his student film contest. While, the other was a screening of the holiday classic Home Alone, which included a strict Christmas pajama only dress code.

The most recently screened film was titled Triple Frontier. The movie stars Ben Affleck, (who is featured in numerous other titles) and Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy. The motion picture is currently available to stream on Netflix. A description of the film is provided below:

"Five former Special Forces operatives reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers these unsung heroes undertake this dangerous mission for self instead of country. But when events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival."

After watching the film, from my perspective, the movie blends heroism and criminalization quite well. It also sheds light on an under-discussed topic, which is how poorly American Veterans are taken care of, once they return home from battle. It was a good movie. I would watch it again and recommend giving it a view.

Going inside the Theater

The way the event works is Patterson holds a contest, via his Instagram account, he provides an easy or more intricate task to his IG followers, he then selects around 30 participants as the winners, and then he provides further details via a direct message.

Each winner is allowed to bring one guest to accompany them to the cinema, upon arrival the participants typically check in with Pat’s manager Ashley Combs. Occasionally, Patterson is accompanied by his mother Tywanna, or some of his teammates, such as Jerami Grant and Andre Roberson. However, in this instance, Pat attended the screening with his fiancée Sarah Nasser.

In the past, Patterson has credited his affection for the cinema to his mom. Pat’s mom helped develop his movie buff habits when he was a child.

Prior to the movie, Patterson explains the rules of the screening and invites guests to chat and take pictures after the movie concludes. When speaking to Pat afterward, he revealed his excitement for Jordan Peele’s upcoming motion picture Us, Peele’s film is set to be released in theaters nationwide on March 22, 2019.

Pat Presents offers movie and Thunder fans an opportunity to meet each other in a social setting, rather than just interacting in the virtual online world. I had the pleasure of meeting Thunder and film fanatic Dorothy, who is always accompanied at the event by her son Carmine.

at least enjoyed a movie outing and they watched nothing other than Triple Frontier. Nets sharpshooter and MTN Dew 3-Point contest champion Joe Harris shared that he enjoyed the film, however his further thoughts on the movie provide a major spoiler.

So often teams preach team bonding, yet it is rarely observed by the fans or media. I got to witness firsthand, just what a close-knit group the Nets are, perhaps that is one reason why they have climbed into the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Chemistry counts for something, the Nets, and the OKC Thunder certainly possess a lot of it. It will be intriguing to see how much or how little their camaraderie benefits both squads during their playoff runs.
