Prior to Friday’s game against Toronto, OKC Thunder’ wing man Paul George spoke with Kawhi Leonard about his upcoming decision this offseason.
We all remember the impatience surrounding OKC Thunder fans last season as Paul George was making his free agency decision. With the role switched to Kawhi Leonard, PG has offered some words of wisdom to help Leonard with his decision.
Last summer, NBA fans seemed set on the idea that Paul George was going to the Lakers. I mean, why wouldn’t he? Lebron James was going there and they have some good young talent. Also, the OKC Thunder were handed an early exit to the playoffs, making fans more sure of George’s departure from OKC.
The one thing that wasn’t shown on the news though, was the brotherhood and chemistry that George created as he came to the Thunder.

free agency, it already leaked that PG was taking a plane back to Oklahoma, which raised speculation. He then signed later that night at Russell Westbrook’s house party, before meeting with any other teams.
When Paul George was asked about his discussion with Kawhi, he gave a very simple response, “That’s between us”.
Now assuming that PG gave Kawhi his own advice, he probably told him to choose with his heart and not his head. Kawhi is currently in a great situation in Toronto, with high-quality players all around him. That’s a team that can cause trouble in the NBA.
So if you see Paul George’s jersey being hoisted into the rafters of Scotiabank Arena, don’t be too surprised
