NBA Power Rankings: Battle for seeding priority of OKC Thunder and peers
Karl-Anthony Towns is making a strong case to make an All NBA team which will net him millions. The question is should a player who can feast across the board but can’t improve those around him be rewarded with an All-NBA spot? There is no denying his talent, but after Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic, I’d be hard pressed to not vote for Rudy Gobert who already got the All-Star shaft since he’s a defensive minded player, rather than an offensive superstar. If I’m voting I’d have a hard time not rewarding Gobert for effecting wins over personal statistics.
And therein lies the rub – until Towns improves defensively or Scott Layden finds the assets who can help improve the Wolves defensively KAT may be destined for a Wolves career similar to the Kevin’s (Love and Garnett). Love never got to the playoffs while wearing a Wolves jersey and Garnett led them to seven consecutive berths but only got past the first round once.
