NBA Power Rankings: OKC Thunder and peers jockey for position
It’s not a surprise the Wizards struggled on the glass this season. Early in the campaign, they lost Dwight Howard with back issues and while Thomas Bryant has showcased potential their frontcourt remains problematic.
At issue for this squad as they enter another offseason with little wiggle room in their salary situation. Certainly, even with John Wall expected to miss the entirety of next season the Wizards still offer offensive prowess. Case in point the Wizards boast the fifth most assists per game (even without John Wall in the mix). But, unless they can rebound and defend another season of mediocre results will be forthcoming. The elephant in the room is whether General Manager Ernie Grunfeld lasts through another year with this team underperforming. (Since writing this Grunfeld has been fired).
