Three takeaways from OKC Thunder huge win over Rockets
By Rylan Stiles
The OKC Thunder did a great job of staying within themselves.
James Harden went for 39 points last night. He shot 13 free throws, including missing a critical one late in the game. He got the benefit of a ton of calls, as we all knew going into the game that he would.
The team knew that as well. Sure, they argued calls, how could you not? But they never took themselves would of it. They never got a technical foul called on them that would’ve compounded the issue at hand, they did not foul even more out of frustration, they played it very well.
They also did not get frustrated, or press, or go against the gameplay early. The Thunder got down by 15 at one point, and at that point in the game, it looked as if everything was turning up Rockets because they were.

Not only did Houston get the calls, but credit to them they also made tough shots. Incredibly tough shots. Shots that the Thunder played perfect defense on and the Rockets not only made but nailed.
It would have been easy to get out of sorts in a game like that. Especially considering what is on the line. The possibility of either playing the top-seeded Warriors or the banged up Portland Trailblazers.
From the line, the OKC Thunder shot 80 percent, just five percent less than the Rockets did from the line. The OKC Thunder outrebounded the Rockets in every aspect but the most important being the offensive glass, where the Thunder grabbed 18 offensive board.
This was a playoff like game, and the OKC Thunder proved that in that atmosphere they can clean up their act, at least for one game.
My final thought on this game was you guys. The fans. I was at both game five last year against the Jazz, and this game last night. Last night was electric, it was more than playoff-like. The stadium was as loud as I have heard it, and it was awesome. Our fans are ready for the postseason. Tip of the cap to you guys.
So sit back, settle in, and get ready for tonight. The final day of the regular season will decide the playoff matchups in the West, and Thunderous Intentions has you covered for tonight’s must win game. On Twitter during the game, Game grades after the game, and takeaways from the pivotal game 82.
