He will have the first, and the only statue outside of Chesapeake Energy Arena (or whatever they will call it by that time, seriously, bring back the Ford Center naming rights, back in my day…)

No one will ever wear his number again in OKC Thunder History, he will be the first and last with the number zero.

The Number 35 has already been sported by Kevin Durant and P.J. Dozier.

The same way I felt about Dirk as a child, kids are growing up right now with that feeling of admiration for Russell Westbrook.

That is special, and something only a few athletes can say they have. In fact, in the current NBA era, maybe LeBron James in Cleveland is the only athlete that will get this night that Dirk and Wade got, and down the road, Russell Westbrook will get. That is only because he is from Arkon, Ohio, and he is the best player in the history of the game. But it is different for Dirk, Wade, and Westbrook.

Do not wait until games 81, and 82 of his final tour of duty to appreciate Russell Westbrook. Appreciate him now, while he can still take over games, excite crowds, and throw down monster dunks.

Everyone has a favorite Russell Westbrook moment, and the beautiful thing about Russell Westbrook is the fact that there are enough moments that people love about him that we could all pick something different.

Take time to appreciate Russell Westbrook, and watch as many games of his as you possibly can. It goes fast.
