OKC Thunder Film Room: Thunder go down 3-1 in series
By Rylan Stiles
Damian Lillard embarrassed Russell Westbrook.
Russell Westbrook was awful in game four, and if you take away a few of his “No, no, no, wow he made it.” plays in the first half, his game would look even worse.
The second half, Westbrook had his worst half in his playoff career, and the first half was not much better.
After all the talking and taunting he did to Damian Lillard, you can not lay this stinker in game four. You especially can not turtle and go into your shell in the second half and stop trying to impact the game. the Thunder pulled within nine, and Russell Westbrook still did not start the fourth quarter.
Westbrook also allowed Billy Donovan to take him off the floor with the game in hand, as did Paul George, which is ironic considering Paul George dunked after the buzzer, and Westbrook jawed at Lillard with the game in hand and Damian Lillard on the bench late in game three.
On this play, that made the building as loud as it got all night, and trust me I was there, it was nothing to celebrate besides luck. With 13 seconds on the shot clock, after a failed post up of Lillard, Westbrook who is an awful shooter shot a contested three that just so happened to fall.
On this play, a fired up Westbrook tried to back down and take advantage of Lillard, but his emotions got the best of him causing him to commit an offensive foul.
Here is another bricked, contest three, with 11 seconds to go on the play clock. This is the struggle with Westbrook who cannot shoot, he saw two threes go down early and thought he was Steph Curry and got away from his game. He shot the Thunder out of this contest.
Obviously, this matchup goes to Lillard, and will for the rest of the series that will likely end tomorrow night.
