Ray of Leadership

More from Thunder News

With 13 years of experience, Felton likely will not come back sporting any new skills, the two most important aspects for the Little General will be limiting his regression and continuing to provide leadership.

Although Westbrook and PG have secured veteran status themselves, having a true veteran presence in the locker room is one of the most key components in regards to team chemistry.

With the retirement of OKC Thunder lifer Nick Collison, Uncle Ray stepped up and filled the void swell.

Felton has developed such close bonds with his teammates in Oklahoma City, Russ and PG both orchestrated social media post’s after the duo convinced Uncle Ray to join the Instagram generation.

In conclusion, Felton’s role could further diminish on the hardwood entering the 2019-20 season. Especially if Dennis Schroder is not moved and late-season addition Jawun Evans, who was claimed off waivers, is retained.

If Felton indeed sticks around OKC for one more year, or longer it will mark the first instance since his initial days in Charlotte, where he has spent three consecutive seasons with the same ball club.
