Former OKC Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins speaks out on Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Perkins also suggested Billy Donovan get fired and replaced by Monty Williams.

The Former OKC Thunder center, Kendrick Perkins has gone on the media carwash making stops at the ESPN family of networks, and now Fox Sports One as well as trying to boost his digital footprint.

Kendrick Perkins spent yesterday on Fox Sports’ morning debate show undisputed where he went on a diatribe about the inner workings of the OKC Thunder.

Kendrick Perkins was a prize get for the OKC Thunder when he joined the team via a trade in the 2010-11 season.

He spent five seasons in Oklahoma City and by all account was close to Kevin Durant. Durant has even called Perkins one of his favorite teammates ever. While Perkins made it clear Kevin Durant did not inform him of his move prior to it happening, there is a reason to believe he might have explained the move to the grizzled veteran.

So while OKC fans on the outside, including myself, believe the OKC Thunder did enough to court Kevin Durant and make him feel wanted, if Perkins goes on National Television to say this, I can not outright call him a liar. He might be more informed than anyone. Besides, it is not up to us to decide what is good enough for another human. No one knows what would have made Durant stay.

The real topic here is the fact that Perkins like others allude to Monty Williams being a Russell Westbrook whisperer.

Editing note: after we published this article the Suns announced they had hired Monty Williams as their head coach.
