OKC Thunder in the news features a happy post surgery Paul George, draft prospect Harry Froling tryout and the upcoming NBA Draft Combine.

Following his rotator cuff surgery, OKC Thunder star Paul George posted a video on his Instagram as per the Fox Sports Oklahoma tweet below.

For anyone who has undergone surgery, you know immediately after surgery the painkillers are actively working so the patient feels numb.

Given Paul George had to miss games and couldn’t raise his arms over his head for a period of time it’s no wonder he’s smiling since it must be a great relief to feel no pain.

That said, in researching the rotator cuff surgery for TI’s recent article the site Very Well Health stated the initial days of recovery can be especially trying at night when attempting to sleep. Patients are suggesting to sleep in a seated position with their elbow pointed downward.

Here’s wishing George has an easy, speedy recovery.

NBA Draft Prospect Harry Froling to work out for OKC Thunder:

Nick Metallinos offers up a special report to ESPN which states the OKC Thunder are among at least six teams set to work out Harry Froling. The other teams on the list are the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans, and the San Antonio Spurs.

Froling’s natural position is at center, but he is also adept at playing the power forward position and since he has the capacity to shoot from distance fits today’s modern game which favors stretch fours.

"Froling is cognisant of the fact that he is still a curiosity to a lot of NBA teams. His college career wasn’t overwhelming, and the fact that he is even on team’s radars is because of his impressive showing in the NBL. He admits that his game was never really suited to the college style of play where offenses are much more structured and he didn’t have the freedom to showcase his basketball I.Q. outside Marquette’s system."

More from Thunderous Intentions

Metallinos details how Froling played two seasons of College ball one at SMU and one at Marquette prior to his stint this season in Australia’s NBL where he won Rookie of the Year.  For the Thunder the lure is Froling’s ability to play the two front court positions, shooting and his high I.Q.

With Nerlens Noel almost assuredly entering free agency with an asking price outside the Thunder’s capacity to match it necessitates the need to replace him or be forced into using Jerami Grant more at the five. That alone offers reason for this rumored workout with OKC. Terrance Ferguson also played a season on the  Adelaide 36ers of the NBL so this isn’t new territory.

Draft Combine Participants:

Speaking of draft prospects the NBA released the 66 players who’ll participate in next week’s NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. The 66 invitees are detailed in Rylan Stiles article as well as three prospects for OKC Thunder fans to keep an eye on.

The NBA Playoffs continue tonight with the Kevin Durant-less Warriors playing James Harden’s Rockets in Houston. A win by the Warriors could cement their Western Conference Finals berth. Conversely, a loss would mean six teams would play this coming Sunday in deciding Game 7 matchups.
