Fans and teams prepare to find out where the lottery balls bounced tonight as the Draft Lottery occurs. In addition, the Draft Combine begins with prospects arriving to get measured and undertake skills testing.  Meanwhile, the OKC Thunder offseason continues as such the writing team at Thunderous Intentions is serving up our takes on each player on the roster with a view to how they performed this season and a view to the future.

Although we’ve still got players in the cue to offer analysis on the writing team has delivered their takes on several players already. This past week offered some great takes worth a re-visit.

Steven Adams:

If you follow the National sites and social media you’ll note most analysts/writers assume any moves made by OKC Thunder General Manager Sam Presti would require trading the big man.

Steven Maichak dove in deep on the Kiwi assessing his strengths and just how vital he is to the current roster. Alternatively, Maichak also examines the areas of Adams game where improvements could help improve the team specifically on offense.

"We all understand there’s only so much a single player can do to change his team’s identity and strategy, but Steven Adams, the reserved and candid player he is, might just be the perfect person to step up to create a cascade effect by demanding his own role be redesigned."

Dennis Schroder:

Sticking with Maichak, he also produced the player review of Dennis Schroder. Maichak utilized film clips to spotlight areas of the game the German excelled in and where he can improve.

Specifically, there are fundamental tweaks Schroder needs to make and to be more consistent. Check out the review for Maichak’s full take on what the OKC Thunder back up reserve must do this offseason to raise his gameplay next season.

"OKC Thunder guard Dennis Schröder proved to be a significant signing from last year’s off-season. Schröder took a step backward from his days as the starting point guard with the Atlanta Hawks to become Oklahoma City’s reserve unit leader, but his game took a step forward because of it. He carved out an exceptional role for himself and benefited from playing on a squad with higher standards and expectations."

Andre Roberson:

More from Thunderous Intentions

Although Roberson didn’t play with the team last year while he rehabilitated from his patellar tendon (and subsequent additional setbacks) his return to the team could have a great impact.

First of all, with the load Paul George had to carry ARob’s presence definitely helps PG defensively. Additionally, Terrance Ferguson was forced to mature quickly in order to fulfill the role Roberson offered prior to his injury.

"When a player has an extended absence from the hardwood, it becomes easy to dismiss their impact on a game. As time went on during the regular season and Terrence Ferguson began to peak in January, some pundits questioned Roberson’s importance to the Thunder. After watching second-year guard Terrence Ferguson struggle in the post-season, it became clear Roberson still provides immense value in Oklahoma City."

TI scribe Alex Mcewen examined Roberson’s tough year off the hardwood but also reflected back on what the defensive specialist brought to the squad. In addition, she dives into ARob’s positive impact off the court and the specific offensive improvements the wing should look to incorporate prior to lacing them up for training camp.
