NBA Draft Combine standouts: Speed kills at combine
By Rylan Stiles
The NBA Draft Combine is in full swing, and it is time to take a look at who performed at top notch speed among the participants
At the NBA Draft Combine, prospects try to put on a show for NBA Scouts and front office brass, overexerting themselves with conditioning and drills to show why they deserve a chance to be selected in the June NBA Draft and fulfill their life long dream.
Shuttle Run:
- Jordan Bone (2.78)
- Devon Dotson (2.80)
- Carsen Edwards (2.82)
- Admiral Schofield (2.87)
- Dylan Windler (2.94)
Jordan Bone really impressed me with his Shuttle Run performance, I mean if you watched one Kansas University game you know Devon Dotson is the fastest player in college basketball. To beat out Dotson in anything involving speed is impressive.
More impressive than that, Admiral Schofield’s 2.87 number. He is the only power forward to place in the top five, and to move like that at 241 pounds is jaw dropping.
Lane Agility:
- Jordan Bone (9.97)
- Kris Wilkes (10.39)
- Cody Martin (10.44)
- Kyle Guy (10.48)
- Carsen Edwards (10.53)
Jordan Bone again sees his name at the top of an NBA Combine list. Bone really helped his stock this weekend in Chicago flashing his speed and leaping ability.
Three Quarter Sprints:
- Jordan Bone (3.03)
- Tremont Waters (3.06)
- Quinndary Weatherspoon (3.09)
- Jaylen Nowell (3.13)
- Eric Paschall (3.18)
Another measurement dominated by Tennesee guard Jordan Bone.

Jordan Bone was by far this year’s NBA Draft Combine standout. Bone littered his name not only throughout these drills but tested out very well in his physical measurements.
Bone was the top of the leaderboards on the Standing Vertical Jump with a 36. His max vertical leap was second among not only the guards but the entire participants.
Jordan Bone could still return to the University of Tennessee but this will now be a very hard decision for the 21 year old athletic guard. It would be hard to have a better combine than he did.
