The bad

For all the growth he made, there are still fundamental flaws with his game that might hold him back in the future. As you might have noticed, I didn’t say anything about his offense in his ‘Good’ section and that was intentional.

On the surface, his offense took major steps this year. He clearly worked on his shot, having gone from someone defenses could totally ignore on the perimeter to someone who always had to be tracked. And he did that in little over a year – a feat which was both impressive and necessary for one of the worst shooting teams in the league.

His off-the-dribble game was still sort of reckless and chaotic but it was markedly calmer than it was at any point before. And he remained one of the most fun players on the fast break in the NBA.
