Kevin Porter Jr.. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. G. 64. USC. 15. player

Kevin Porter Jr. is an athletic freak that can soar up for jaw dropping, rim rattling dunks whenever he wants.

He also shoots 41 percent from deep. But the form is anything but pretty or smooth. His low release could be problematic when it comes to the NBA game as defenders get better, longer, faster, and more athletic.

Kevin Porter Jr. is never going to be able to control an NBA offense and handle the basketball.  However, if you do not ask him to, he can do a lot of other things well. Like cut, catch and shoot, and drive down the lane with his head down.

in the second half of his season at the University of Southern California, Kevin Porter Jr. was a much better stationary passer and set up his admittedly subpar teammates nicely.

For being 6’5 with a 6’9 wingspan, Kevin Porter Jr. is a very good rebounder.

The Detroit Pistons coupling him with Blake Griffin, and Reggie Jackson could earn them yet another playoff birth, but not much besides that.

Kevin Porter Jr. is a very good role player, a potential sixth man of the year candidate eventually in his career, but he is not a franchise changing earth shattering player, just a very good one.
