G. 18. Virginia Tech. Nickeil Alexander-Walker. 14. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is almost 21 years old, and he seems primed to be a solid and balanced basketball player that can do a lot of things well, but only a few things elite.

Alexander-Walker nabbed almost two steals per game on the defensive end while posting 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Alexander-Walker shot 37 percent from deep and 54 percent in the effective field goal percentage.

He measures out at 6’5.5″ with a 6’9.5″ wingspan and an 8’6″ standing reach.

Alexander-Walker is a very talented defensive player and shows the signs of being a good to borderline elite defender depending on the work he puts in.

Nickeil Alexander is a solid back up point guard in this league and could lessen the blow for the Celtics who could see Kyrie Irving and/or Terry Rozier walk in NBA Free Agency this summer.

Alexander-Walker is a solid playmaker who can make the flashy passes and also create off the dribble. Do you want him with a Kyrie like usage rate? Of course not, but in 2019, you need multiple ball handlers and Alexander-Walker can be just that for the Boston Celtics who have picks littered throughout the 2019 NBA Draft.
