PJ WASHINGTON. 13. player. 110. . PF/C. Kentucky

I’ve long suspected the Heat are desirous to move Bam Adebayo into the starting lineup and adding a quality new ball era type  PJ Washington to the mix would make for a tantalizing future frontcourt pairing. Granted, Pat Riley would need to offload Hassan Whiteside or get Erik Spoelstra to convince him to move to the bench which stands as a major stopgap to this equation.

Still, beyond the salary issues in Miami the absolute lack of playmakers last season and anemic offense clearly spotlighted the need to add more of both to the 2019-2 squad.

PJ Washington wouldn’t just fulfill those needs he’s also the type of candidate Miami salivates over. Unlike most prospects who can’t wait to exit after college following their freshman seasons, Washington elected to return to Kentucky in order to improve his body and his shot mechanics or more accurately the timing of his release.

To say PJ was successful would be an understatement as his efficiency from the perimeter was close to 20 percent (23.8 percent to 42.3 percent) and he did it while attempting close to two additional attempts per game (0.6 to 2.2).

By showing how much he was invested in growing and his work ethic he also is tailor made to wear a Heat jersey.
