The Washington Wizards still are without a General Manager. Yes, after the NBA Draft, and just days away from NBA Free Agency opening up, the Washington Wizards still have not filled their vacant General Manager position.

So, when the Wizards were placed on the clock with the ninth pick in the NBA Draft, they selected Rui Hachimura, from the University of Gonzaga. I am not sold on Hachimura, and especially not at ninth. The Wizards could’ve traded down to grab Hachimura, and gained more assets, or just drafted one of the better NBA Draft prospects such as Cam Reddish, who went one pick later to the Atlanta Hawks.

Rui Hachimura is a possible fit with OKC. light. Related Story

The Wizards are still up in the air as a franchise direction. John Wall will miss all of next year if not longer, Bradley Beal is all alone and might be on the trading block for the taking, and they still employ Scott Brooks as their head coach.

The Wizards did make a draft pick that I can get behind when they nabbed Admiral Schofield in the second round for a great value pick. Now though, the Wizards are an extremely redundant team. The future in Washington looks bleak, and hopefully, they will eventually hire a GM after rightfully ousting Ernie Grunfield.
