Last year, the Atlanta Hawks made a huge trade to give the Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic and in return received Trae Young and a future first-round pick. Like the Mavericks, the Hawks are set up with a great young core, especially now following this year’s NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks started the NBA Draft by trading up and grabbing the number four pick from the New Orleans Pelicans using the number seven and other assets to grab DeAndre Hunter with the fourth pick.

That was not their only first-round pick, at ten, the Hawks were back on the clock and selected the third Duke Blue Devil in Cam Reddish, someone who I think will be a pillar in the Hawks team for quite some time.

Safe to say, Atlanta Hawks fans were thrilled with the selection of Duke forward Cam Reddish.

The Hawks now have a core of young players around Trae Young and are on track to be one of the most exciting teams to follow for the new half decade plus. Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, John Collins, and DeAndre Hunter is a great core to build around for Atlanta.
