Perimeter Shooting:

I’d have to pull up his end of season presser, but his response to where and how the team would address outside shooting and why he didn’t draft to fill it sure sounded like a regurgitation of that last presser. Where I’ll cut him a bit of slack is many teams took shooters 10 to 20 picks higher than they were widely seeded to go. Still, there were numerous options on the board including Nassir Little (Blazers -25), lights out shooter Dylan Windler ( Cavs – 26), Carsen Edwards (Celtics -33), Eric Paschall (Warriors – 41) or Jaylen Nowell (Wolves – 43) to name a few.

Presti reiterated his exit interview response of how the team is relying on internal strides while they’ll also investigate the open market (free agents/Summer League) to help fill the gaps in the offseason.

Ask yourself if that stock answer couldn’t have been delivered by the 29 other GMs or from any fan on the street. That doesn’t mean it’s not true – but it’s so frustrating how flippant that answer comes across.
