The NBA Summer League is just a few weeks away, and the OKC Thunder has started to fill out their Summer Squad.

The OKC Thunder are starting to fill out their NBA Summer League roster. For the Thunder, their NBA Summer League season in Vegas gets started on July 6th, against the Utah Jazz, and wraps up with the Summer League Tournament play from July 12th through 15th.

For the Thunder, one thing is for sure, they will not have Terrance Ferguson for this year’s Summer League campaign. In his post NBA Draft press conference, Thunder general manager stated that the young shooting guard is past that point in his career.

Terrance Ferguson spent last year in Vegas working on growing as a playmaker and ball handler, that experiment did not go well, but still, he had a good sophomore season.

Unlike last year’s summer squad, this year’s should feature a first round pick from that year’s class. The Thunder did not select in the first round a year ago, but this year picked up New Balance intern Darius Bazley in the first round.

Bazley was acquired via a trade, and that creates a few hurdles for the OKC Thunder in terms of activating him to the NBA Summer League squad. Bazley by all reports will be at NBA Summer League but if he plays depend on when the trade with the Memphis Grizzlies gets finalized, and when the OKC Thunder can ink Bazley to an NBA Contract.

Hamidou Diallo and Deonte Burton will likely play in the NBA Summer League again, and both will put on a display of crazy athletic dunks.

The OKC Thunder also inked a pair of undrafted free agents since the draft concluded on Thursday. Lugentz Dort earned a two-way contract from the Thunder almost immediately after the NBA Draft concluded.

Former Utah guard, Sedrick Barefield inked a deal with the Thunder for an NBA Summer League tryout. Barefield has a chance to become a mainstay for the OKC Blue if he performs this Summer in Vegas.
