Highlights from week 1 in the BIG3 League, where Joe Johnson shined, the 4-point line fell flat, and a former OKC Thunder duo debuted head-to-head.

Although the OKC Thunder reside at the top of the pecking order, by playing in the NBA. Oklahoma City could learn new tricks and traits from across the vast basketball landscape, including Ice Cubes BIG3 League.

Week 1, kicked off in host cities Detroit and Indiana. The first week, featured six contests, with all 12 teams taking the floor. Former NBA player, Joe Johnson stole the show and helped his squad secure the victory. Former Thunder duo, Anthony Morrow and Perry Jones III, debuted versus each other. Lastly, the 4-point line underwhelmed as there was only a single made 4-point shot.

Leaders from Week 1

There was an abundance of players scoring in the first week of the season; seven players eclipsed the 20-point threshold. Through week 1, Cuttino Mobley is the scoring leader with 28-points, followed by Joe Johnson with 27-points, Craig Smith and Amare Stoudemire round-out the top three scorers with 26-points apiece.

It will be fascinating to see if dominant individual scoring maintains for the duration of the season. If it does, the viewership and attendance will continue to grow; because scoring attracts a following.

Checking in with A-Mo and PJ3

During his tenure with the OKC Thunder, Morrow quickly became a favorite among the broadcast crew and the fan base. In his debut for Bivouac, A-Mo was the second leading scorer for his team with 16-points. He also pulled down five rebounds, dished a single assist, grabbed two steals, and drained two treys.

Jones also had a successful first showing with his team the Enemies. Just like his former teammate, PJ3 was also the second leading scorer on his squad adding 10-points, one rebound, an assist, and he also knocked down two 3-point shots.
