To say the NBA Free Agency Moratorium got off to a hot start would be the understatement of the year. In fact, teams and players cavalierly ignored ‘the rules’ with plenty of leaks occurring the night prior. For OKC Thunder fans it was equal parts angst and practicing deep breathing as a luxury team the club and Sam Presti literally couldn’t afford to join the clubs making big offers or moves for the top tier talents.

Still, Sam Presti did get some business done on day one which opens the door for pundits to wax poetic on what other moves the magician has up his sleeve. The OKC Thunder also was involved a very rare moment as a Woj Bomb ended up incorrect. In fairness, it was likely more of a misunderstanding, but still, it’s fun to be part of these trivia type questions of the future.

Day one brought tons of movement at the top of the boards, which again was suspected although the landing spots weren’t exactly what “sources say” or “insiders whispers” alluded would occur.

Something else to keep in mind is the league announced the Salary Cap for 2019-20 is set at $109,140M with the tax level at $132,627M.

Obviously, the OKC Thunder will be the team drawing our greatest interest. So, in addition to the moves made by the home squad, we’ll also note key moves which might affect the Thunder this coming season.
