Philadelphia 76ers:

June 1: The situation in Philadelphia is up in the air as the Jimmy Butler agreement to join Miami Heat hinged on a sign and trade with three teams. Butler was set to get a max deal of 4-years, $142M.

Philly was set to get Josh Richardson and initially, the Mavericks were said to be the third team with Goran Dragic going to Dallas. Subsequent reports said the deal which hinged on this portion of the trade in order for the Heat to clear enough cap space switched to Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr.  Then tweets surfaced saying the deal was dead.

July 1: Miami trade Hassan Whiteside to Blazers which may help foster the Butler sign and trade. And it brings yet another big to the Western Conference. Will the addition of Whiteside give Sam Presti pause over trading Steven Adams (assuming that’s on his chalkboard list of things to do).

July 1: Butler sign and trade (with full details) is completed with four teams involved and Josh Richardson arriving in Philly.

July 3: Sadly the Bobi and Toby show is no more.
