The Utah Jazz have won the offseason so far, only challenged by the New Orleans Pelicans.

While most of this article will be about day one of the NBA Free Agency frenzy, you can not tell the story of the Utah Jazz offseason so far without discussing the fact the Jazz were able to snag veteran point guard Mike Conley from Memphis.

Conley will compliment the face of the franchise Donovan Mitchell well, and that was just the start of their fantastic offseason (and it’s only been 24 hours of free agency!)

The Jazz signed Bojan Bogdanovic when day one got started to pair him with Joe Ingles, and just become a floor spacing and defensive force. The Jazz was already a tough out, now add in Bogdanovic.

Utah also got Ed Davis on the open market and shipped out Derrick Favors to New Orleans in the process for a pair of second-round picks.

Now, Utah throws out a roster featuring Conley, Mitchell, Ingels, Bogdanovic, Gobert, and Ed Davis. Some have even said that is a roster that can compete for the best in the West title.

Luckily for the OKC Thunder, despite the Utah Jazz getting better, they were already good last season. That means the Jazz solidifying a playoff spot will not jeopardize the Thunder’s chances. However, for a team that missed the playoffs to enter the playoffs, someone who made it last year has to exit. That is where the danger comes for OKC.
