Hamidou Diallo was the OKC Thunder’s prize rookie a year ago who soared over Shaq and won the NBA Slam Dunk contest
Sam Presti pulled off an NBA Draft day trade for Hamidou Diallo and the high flyer impressed OKC Thunder fans, and also took home the slam dunk contest with a superman-like dunk over Superman himself.
Diallo came into the NBA as an incredibly raw prospect from the University of Kentucky and like Burton, he turned heads in the Summer League.
From there, Diallo played in over 50 games for the varsity squad, and like Burton did not get enough playing time to accumulate a high amount of per game stats, but his per 36 numbers are very comparable to Burton.
The OKC Thunder seem to have found two valuable pieces for seemingly nothing. Finding value in the weeds is incredibly important.

The OKC Thunder will look for improvements in Diallo’s game this summer. While he is a great cutter and an easy transition bucket scorer, the Thunder need to see his game in the half court set grow.
If Diallo somehow leaves this summer with a jump shot or 3-point shot, Diallo will be in line for some serious minutes.
