Former OKC Thunder guard Anthony Morrow shines with the BIG 3 during week 2
By Alex Mcewen
Former OKC Thunder player Anthony Morrow has been enjoying success in the BIG3 League; that did not stop when he returned to his hometown of Charlotte NC.
During the 2019 NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina; it became quite clear the OKC Thunder and their former sharpshooter Anthony Morrow were still on good terms. The Thunder even allowed Morrow to revive an online segment titled AMO TV, for the occasion.
Months later, Morrow returned to his hometown of Charlotte, only this time instead of media duty he was back on the hardwood, playing in the BIG3 League. Morrow was the second leading scorer on his team, with 16 points. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for his squad to earn the victory, as they lost by a margin of five.

The reigning league champion, Power; is off to a fantastic start. They currently possess a 2-0 record with an average margin of victory of ten points. Expansion team the Triplets also possess one of the five undefeated records. While, fellow expansion team, the Aliens are one of five winless teams; the other two expansion squads are in the middle of the pack, setting at 1-1.
It’s far too earlier to begin evaluating a playoff picture, but thus far it appears Power seems poised to remain on top.
Checking in on the 4-point line
This is the one area of the BIG3 the NBA could potentially be monitoring closely; due to the fact, fans and media alike have been clamoring for a 4-point line in the association. Through two weeks, there have only been three made 4-point shots.
Therefore, the extra-long ball is either being underutilized; or the players in the BIG3 do not possess the shooting accuracy to knock down fours with consistency.
The BIG3 will return to action this afternoon as they will bring their talents to the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama. Tomorrow the BIG3 will be right back in action inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
