Decisions, decisions:
OKC is at a crossroads. If the right deal presents itself this offseason, I would be for OKC trading away Westbrook for a package that Presti is confident in that can help the team in the future.
Teams like the Knicks, Suns, and Heat could all potentially be interested in Westbrook if he is put out there on the open market.
Three teams that are missing a star point guard and have the available space/contracts to make a deal like this work. The Knicks especially are a team that is severely lacking star power. Could you imagine how excited Knicks fans would be if they traded for Westbrook?
If they can’t find a deal that seems worth taking, I would love for Presti to work as hard as he could to find a way to bring Bradley Beal to OKC. He would be a great fit next to Russ and he’s only 26, so you could potentially build around him when Russ starts to age more dramatically and/or gets traded.
OKC is faced with a tough decision over the next couple of months, whether to keep Westbrook or not, and their decision may impact the next decade of Thunder basketball.
