OKC Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has a busy week ahead, he has a comedy show scheduled in Tulsa, and his EYBL team qualified for Nike Peach Jam, again.

Russell Westbrook is a busy human, aside from being the starting point guard of the OKC Thunder, a husband, and father of three; Russ is also an active philanthropist. This coming week, Westbrook and his close friend Demetris ‘Juice’ Deason will host their first-ever pop-up comedy show in Tulsa.

In addition, to the comedy presentation, Westbrook will also have his eyes drawn to the Nike Peach Jam because his Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) squad will appear in the summer classic for the second consecutive year.

You must honor a dare

But, first Russ and his inner circle enjoyed their annual vacation. The close-knit group indulges on a getaway every summer.

About the EYBL and Peach Jam

The EYBL is essentially Nike’s version of AAU basketball. In addition to Westbrook, many NBA players sponsor teams including; Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and others. Westbrook’s squad, Team WhyNot possessed a record of 9-4-0 during the regular season, good for a .692 winning percent.

The impressive record helped Team WhyNot earn their Peach Jam selection. Only 24 teams are selected to participate in Peach Jam, this year Team WhyNot is positioned in Pool D.

Come one, Come all to the Why Not? Comedy PopUp!

Russ and his close friend Demetrius have been putting on comedy shows together since 2016. What is unique about this particular show is it is a popup, and the first ever Why Not? Comedy show hosted in Tulsa Oklahoma.

The show will feature the comic talents of Ron T, Alexis Miranda, Velly Vel, Yasamin Bayattar, and Lance Woods. While DJ Wayne Indisthang will provide music and sounds. Don’t let me sway your decision to attend the show. I’ll let Russell Westbrook do that.
